The Buoyocyte is an intermediate cell that is unlocked after completing "Countermeasure". It has the ability to change its density.

Description[]

The nucleus of the Buoyocyte is off-centered, and there appears to be a vacuole within, giving it the appearance of smiling. Depending on the density setting, it can float or sink. Inside the vacuole, there are spiky spots. Closer inspection of the vacuole reveals that it looks to be sucking the spiky patches. The spiky spots will be squashed by the top of the vacuole, making them smaller.

Cell-specific settings[]

Density: A higher density makes the cell sink, while a lower density makes it float. This can be programmed with signal substance dependence, making this cell compatible with Senseocytes, Stereocytes and Neurocytes.

Trivia[]

  • It appears to be smiling
  • It is completely useless if gravity is off
  • If you zoom in, the bubbles are spiky.
  • It is impossible to set the Buoyocyte density to a fixed value between 0.00 and 0.03, or between -0.03 and 0.00, using the in-game genome editor. A value of exactly 0 is allowed, however.
  • The bubbles and the stuff inside the vacuole is actually a seperate liquid.
